With reference to Admiralty Letter of 24th February

ho 1927, c.v.in c.209/27/13A, and previous correspondence

relative to the proposed use of "Marble Hall", Hong Kong, as an official residence for the Commander-in-Chief of the China Station, I am commanded by My Lords Commissioners of the Admiralty to acquaint you, for the information of the Secretary of State for the Colonies, that They accept with a deep sense of appreciation the generous offer of the Government of Hong Kong as conveyed in His Excellency's letter of 23rd November 1926, a copy of which accompanied your letter of 11th January 1927, C.F.23757/26.

I am to request that, in expressing to the Government of Hong Kong Their Lordships' grateful thanks for their munificent gift, the Secretary of State will notify His Excellency that My Lords are prepared to take over the property, so soon as it becomes available for transfer to them, upon the terms of his letter above quoted, and that a copy of this communication has been forwarded to the Commander-in-Chief in order that he may make all necessary arrangements when the time arrives.
